Today we completed 1 successful year in business. My office began its operation in India last year in April 15 th. So in April 27th this year we are having a lunch-buffet party for our first anniversary.
Last year for its operation to began we had a opening ceremony attended by all the CEOs and hi-fis from the biz world for the inauguration ceremony. The inauguration took place in Indian and Japanese way since the company is Japanese based. In morning we had vaastu shanty, laxmin pujan and navgrah shanty and chopdi pujan for the good business and in evening we had a Japanese style opening ceremony by sakhe barrel breaking which consist of white rice beer filled in wooden drums and we have to open the barrel with a hammer. Then this wine is served to all the people as Prasad. This ceremony was followed by grand dance party and dinner in intercontinental grand….
This year on completion of successful one year in biz our MD decided we go in for lunch party in a grand hotel so as to treat the family… we decided on 3 hotels which are considered as the best hotel in aamchi Mumbai….ITC, the grand Maratha Sheraton, the Hyatt and JW Marriott… Our HR manager must be surely having good patio skills He zeroed in JW Marriott.
The ambience of the hotel is good, they have good valet parking facility…the hotel entrance is good and huge decorated in Egyptian style with the mummies standing tall and colusseum in front of every cafeteria. The café lotus is huge and spacious. The sitting arrangement is made up of cane furnishing and glass overlooking the pool and lotus ponds. However he cane furniture is decorated with heavy mattress which makes the chairs very heavy to move.
Since Konkani festival is going on in JW Marriott, coastal food and other non veg items are serves as per the Konkani style which blends all the spices and tender coconut milk in every delicacy. To begin with the soup both veg and non veg varieties were avail able I guess I had a veg soup which was American vegetable soup with garlic dashes.. too heavy on garlic but very palatable.
Followed by it was the starter s which had varied varieties of deliciously looking food which had parsleys, several types of salads out of which a honey combed baby corn salad was awesome, several kind of pastas cooked in different styles, various kinds of salad dressings, chutneys, pickles etc. The main course had rice cooked in 3 different style, several kind of Punjabi style vegetables with different kinds of Indian breads.
The most amazing was the Italian counter which severed the best pizza in the market.. I think JWs pizza beats pizza hut pizza) I had toppings of olives, bell pepper, mushroom, onions and garlic on thinnest cheese ccrust.. the pizza was baked in front of me with the thinnest layer [possible.. mind you I have never had finished a whole pizza in my life but it was the first time I finished a whole pizza.. and still wanting more.. The pizza counters served more of authentic Italian pastas which looked good but are never palatable for Indian tongues. Though I just checked out the Italian dish made out f potato, tomatoes, spinach and sauces.. it was good…
JW has best dessert counter at least that’s what I heard.. And Lo!!!!! They served more than 25 kinds of desserts they had strawberry cakes, jelly’s, cheese cakes, fruit ice-cream, tarts , mousse, jelly’s cakes pancakes etc etc the list is endless. One can have a delightfull lunch/dinner only with the JWs dessert section.. I had to taste all the dessert that were available including my favorite black currant ice cream with rasins…
Last but not the least JW sponsored us the first anniversary cake for our celebration. In all it was a nice experience for a luncheon with soft piano playing by….
